The Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) certificate program is an intensive and highly effective method of managing aggressive children, youth or adults. It is a skills-based training program designed to help child and youth workers, mental health professionals and anyone else who would like to learn how to safely manage aggressive behaviour in children and youth or adults. UMAB begins with a breakdown of the precipitating factors of aggression. Initial learning focuses on the theory regarding the physiological, psychological and behavioural cues and changes that occur in aggressive individuals.
Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behavior is a program that was developed to address the safety needs of not only the service provider but also the people that it services. This workshop will explore the nature of crisis and the essential role that front-line workers play in responding to people in critical situations.
If you have had this training within the previous two years - you may request registration for the second day as a review.
