In this workshop, we will look at the basics of motivational interviewing (MI) starting with the definition and principles. We will also talk about OARS which is a helpful tool for putting MI principles into practice with your clients experiencing homelessness. Also included in this workshop will be case studies where MI was helpful and cases where MI was a good resource but other skills were needed as well. There will also be an opportunity for participants to share how they think MI could be utilized in a case study and for participants to share their own tricky cases to the group to work through as a team how to apply MI
