Concurrent disorders
are defined as the presence of both mental illness and substance misuse.
Individuals living with concurrent disorders require adequate, integrated
supports, which are likely to include several different community services.
This workshop will give an overview of how concurrent disorders may present and
impact people's lives and give participants an opportunity to explore ways to
support, based on their different roles in the community. It will include
discussion about collaboration between services and agencies in order to build
community capacity to address these complex issues.
