This training would be addressing support to your participants/ clients in the focusing on a trauma informed approach. It would be important for the staff to learn more about the impacts of trauma. I know it was explained that staff were looking into how to deal with addictions and mental health. I feel this is an important fact: 90% of addictions and mental health clients have experienced trauma. Areas we should focus on in the training:

• What does it mean to be trauma informed
• Understanding the impacts of trauma on clients and staff
• Self-awareness
• How to support clients and create emotional safety in working with clients
• Understanding and building resiliency
